Baked Sunday Mornings - Orange Creamsicle Tart

Oh my goodness, was this good!

Orange is one of my favorite flavors and with orange in every layer, I couldn't wait to try this one. So much so, I actually made it way ahead of schedule and it was dessert at our Easter dinner.

Orange soda is included in the orange curd and the orange whipped cream. The crust gets a hint of orange from orange zest. Orange everywhere!

Our family takes a lot of cruises and desserts on heavy on the gelatin and often have very little flavor and weird texture. When I saw that gelatin was in the recipe I was a bit apprehensive that I would end up with a slice of tart heavy on the jiggle and light on flavor. Not to worry, the gelatin provided just the right amount of stability and structure without detracting from the creaminess. This was truly a perfect dessert with the buttery crust adding texture and crunch to the creamy, dreamy layers of orange curd and whipped cream. I wish I had had some of those tiny orange slices that look like a real orange to place on the top.

One of my favorite Baked recipes so far (and that's saying something)! To get this wonderful recipe, visit the Baked Sunday Mornings blog, here.
