Caramelized Onion, Thyme & Cheddar Muffins

I love sweets, but was thrilled that this week's Sweet Melissa Sunday's recipe was a savory muffin. Thanks to Haana of Haana's Kitchen for selecting this great recipe.
Melissa includes several variations of her Savory Muffin recipe in her book, but the options are only limited to the cook's imagination. Loving caramelized onions like I do, I stuck with that option but swapped the sage for thyme. The muffins were a great accompaniment to a the cheesy potato soup I made last night and equally delicious for brunch this morning.
I am looking forward to making these again and want to try them with crumbled Italian sausage, thyme, and Parmesan. The recipe can be found on Haana's site, here. Enjoy!
