SMS Red Velvet Cupcakes

Rosy of Rosy Lips and Lavender selected Red Velvet Cake for this week's Sweet Melissa Sundays challenge. A perfect selection a week before Valentine's Day!

I chose to make cupcakes instead of a full cake because cupcakes seem like less work but actually are probably more work! The cake is very good; most and chocolately. I used a different cream cheese frosting recipe than Melissa's and found the cream cheese to be the perfect frosting for this cupcake.

Thanks for this great selection Rosy! You can find the recipe at her website and can check out what creative creations the other SMS bakers made this week here.

  5. Your cupcakes look wonderful! I also went the cupcake route - cupcakes seem like less work to me too but that's probably because it takes me forever to frost a layer cake and I'm never happy with the way it looks :)

  13. How cute! I love the little piped details. With Valentine's approaching, I've been in the mood to make everything red velvet possible. I've been dreaming up how to make red velvet French macarons. Haven't taken the plunge and attempted them yet though.
